Welcome and thank you for taking the time to take a small peek into my life as a freelance photographer.
Photography is my absolute passion. It is something that I obsess over; it is what I live, eat and breathe every moment I am awake. It is one of the greatest gifts my mother ever gave me, and it is something I will forever share with her even though she is no longer with me physically.
Photography isn’t just what I do – it isn’t merely my occupation or career. It has become who I am as an individual. It identifies and defines me much like my gender or ethnicity. It is an extension of my personality and a manifestation of my past life experiences, my hopes for the future, and my deepest dreams.
What I love most about working in the fashion and beauty industry is its constant state of flux. No two days are ever the same, and it is a never-ending learning process. I am fortunate enough to work with some of the most wonderfully talented artists in the world in a collaborative environment where the only limitations are the ones set by your imagination. The word fashion means to construct, to fabricate, to manufacture; we are able to create from nothing but ideas and concepts.
Though I enjoy shooting different types of photography, shooting beauty is what impassions me the most. The challenge of creating within a limited canvas in addition to having very little room for error provides a level of pressure that I thrive on. I strive to capture a surreal perfection married with the vulnerability of the human condition: physical beauty juxtaposed with emotion.
