I had the opportunity to shoot a fall fashion editorial for Orlando Style Magazine featuring my good friend and up and coming Hollywood actress, Cindy Vela. My producer, Karuna Karmarkar, helped me put together an absolutely fantastic team comprised of stylist Melanie Leftick and makeup artist Juanita Lyon, both represented by Celestine, and amazing hairstylist Noogie Thai with Current Studio LA.
Cindy and I consulted with the editor to decide on the art direction for the shoot, and from the get go it was very much a collaborative effort. Animal prints, patterns and textures were trending for fall 2010, so Melanie pulled some truly unique pieces and accessories from David Alexander, Stella and Jamie, Jerell Scott and Nicolina Royale to name a few.
We shot the story at my studio against a black seamless with a theatrical spot as the key light. Using this spotlight I was able to cut and shape the light to my needs in order to bring focus to key elements of the wardrobe and to dramatically light Cindy. We managed to shoot 8 outfits that day, and the magazine used 4 in the final spread of the September issue.

Here are the actual tearsheets from the magazine:
